I am completely innocent, I tell you. I spent much of the day working on the next couple installments of The 12 Days of Crisp-Moss, with absolutely no knowledge that Princess Pinky Bao Bao (the actual Princess Pinky Bao Bao) was staging a sit in at the top of her beloved hemlock tree.
Unlike the San Diego Zoo, which is a closed area, the National Zoo is open to a large park (which name escapes me at the moment) and so the animals must be secured in their private behind the scenes enclosures before their attendants can call it a day, and go home and put their very tired feet up.
So, when Princess Pinky decides she does not want to come down….
I think she is trying to beat Tai Shan’s record.
Meanwhile, on with the 12 Days of Crisp-moss:
On the 3rd day of Crisp-moss, my panda cam did see…
Be the Bear (and come down from there, OK?)
Bob T. Panda
I didn’t realize how anxious I was about Pinky’s tree sit until she was on the ground, in the enclosure and attached to a faucet. Phewww…..big R E L I E F !!
I know what you mean. When it when into overnight time, I was a little worried, but when she came down several times during Occupy Hemlock, i knew she was okay and just being a brat. I did feel very bad for the keepers who had to stay late both nights trying to get her to come in. I’m sure they are very happy she finally cooperated.
There are those who suspect that she is trying to get extra votes for the Giant Panda Zoo awards.
The name of the park is Rock Creek Park (just in case you wanted to know). Merry Christmas (Cripsmoss)
Thank you! It was on the tip of my brain, as they say, but. I could not pull it out of the murky recesses therein. I should know this because I have friends in Silver Spring who live of the edges of the park. A senior panda moment, no doubt. (Not to mention a bit of laziness in not looking it up.)
A big Awwww for the napping triplets 🙂
So glad Pinky’s Protest is over!
:o)
We are glad Occupy Hemlock is over (for now.)
Dear Bob T.: Thanks for reminding me that I have to vote for Pinky another 24000 times. Do you know what was the claim of the ‘Occupy Hemlock’ action? I didn’t see banners of protest in the tree. 🙂
Thank you for remembering to “Vote Pinky” often and in quantity. I will be looking into the issues surrounding #OccupyHemlock, you can be sure. I suspect Pinky did not know she was supposed to have a banner to make her demands. We will be looking into the matter soon. (as soon as we finish the 12 days of Crispmoss.)
Maybe Pinky stepped on her magical wand?
OOOO! yes, that could certainly have happened. That would have given her a scary ouch for sure. You can be sure that we will be looking into that matter/ Occupy Hemlock is not over.
