I REALLY shouldn’t admit this….

…but I laugh out loud at my own cartoons.  A funny thing this internet stuff.  Just because I am sitting here, alone in my studio tip tapping away, as only someone with big hairy paws can do, I think, I am writing this for myself, and no one else will ever read this.  Yeah, right.

And then I “click” and all my secrets are revealed.

Well, heck, if I don’t think I’m funny, why should anyone else.  Is this the appropriate time to mention that there have been over 35,000 visits to this blog?  And not all by me?

Just checking.

Here, as promised, is part 2 of Bob and Mehitabel (and the panda kindergarten– huzzah!) Explain Kickstarter:

and that’s what it’s all about!

Stay tuned to all the bears that fit!

Be the Bear!

Please, Bob, tell me this was all on purpose where KICKSTARTER was concerned~~you are now famous all over, you genius. Bai Yun is a great panda, along with all of her 6 children and husband Gao Gao of the Fluffy Furry Sexie Feetsies~~~but I never knew a Genius Panda before, just Giant Pandas.

Well, a panda can dream. I think this falls under the category of “accidentally on purpose.” We are still hoping that the MacArthur Foundation will add the category of “Panda Satire” to their list of genius grants.

Well, I too laugh at my own work. My biggest latest laugh: as you know, I’m writing a bunch of panda plays — really, intentionally so-bad-I-hope-they’re-good plays — for August’s 31 Plays 31 Days. My favorite line so far is spoken by a pygmy hippopotamus that the lead panda wants to go with him (or is it her? with 14 plays so far–yeah, I’m running a few days late–I lose track). Anyway, the line is “China is not a good place for a hippopotamus.” After I wrote that I laughed for about 10 minutes. Okay, it’s probably not that great out of context, but I love it anyway. Aside from the shameless self-promotion, this is a good way to say “I heard that!” You write funny stuff. Keep laughing!

Ack, I have a heavy send finger. The lead panda wants the hippopotamus to go with him/her to China. And the hippopotamus says — well, you already read it. Don’t you hate it when somebody doesn’t know how to tell a joke, lol?

Actually, pandas are notoriously bad at telling jokes, and THEN they roll on the floor laughing before they even get to the punch line. This really annoys penguins, but the pandas all think it is hilarious. Can’t wait to read the plays. We’ll post the best of them here, with cartoon, if you want.

I am taking part in the 31 plays in 31 days thing too. I heard of the Scottish play with pandas, woo hoo. I have written one short play with Yun Zi and Gao Gao though. I can’t help it as I have bears on my brain.
