Well, this may be a first for The Panda Chronicles.
You know how people who are born on holidays like Christmas or 4th of July always complain that no one ever really celebrates their birthday because..um…MAJOR HOLIDAY!!!!!DUH!!!!
So, think about what it means to be born on what is probably the most infamous day in recent American history (and I don’t mean the day that the Supremes appointed George W. President) Yeah, I am talking about the ultimate conversation stopper. What if your birthday is on September 11th? Let me put that another way, in case you missed the reference.
What if your birthday was on 9/11?
Well, that just happens to be the case for one of The Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire’s most faithful followers, a young woman from my home town of Phillie PA. so in honor of your birthday, we bring you….
A Salute to Cake! Happy Birthday, Cami Taylor!!!!!
Well, apparently, much to my surprise, I could go on and on with cartoons of pandas and cakes, but I won’t!
Happy birthday, once again Cami….be sure to…um…have some cake. How did I know about this? Let’s just say that small pandas have big mouths. I’m looking at YOU, Emperor Pew! ( see article: When good pandas go bad!) Thanks for alerting me to the news that there is something to celebrate about 9/11. That Bamboo Psychic network is really something!
Be the Bear!
Bob T. Panda
Happy Birthday Cami, I wish you a Happy and Magical Day for this Birthday and always. ????? Birthdays are special joyous events, and should never be overshadowed by what we cannot change. Bob T. , I just love Mini Bob, a Panda after my own heart. Most of all, thank you Bob T. Panda for being the Panda Peerless Leader to a Bunch of Panda Panatics who might otherwise not know each other. You have made great magic. It is obvious where The Princess Pinky gets her ?Poof?!
??Happy Birthday Cami! Huzzah, Hoorah, and Hooray!!!
I lost my first comment. But this one is longer. Longer is better, right?
Longer is better, at least when it comes to comments. Visits to the dentist? Not so much. Mini Bob went into a frosting coma after all those cuppycakes, but he has survived.
It is strange to remember where I was on 9/11 2001. I was sitting on my front porch out here on the western edge of the crumbling empire. The sun was shining. I was talking on the phone with someone, who had her TV on. It was very surreal. How could anything bad happen on such a glorious end of summer day?
But that’s not the focus of todays post. We R all endangered after all. Let’s have some cake.
Thank you#
You’re welcome. You realize this means we must have cake when you are in Seattle.
Your Welcome. IF you are going to Seattle, please enjoy my hometown. My daughter’s father was on a flight to NYC. Next year, I shall enjoy a cuppycake and toast you. Huzzah and enjoy my Voted Seattle. Because I am an will always be a SeattleGirl. Happy, Joyful Day, and as Winnie-the-Pooh would say; Many Happy Returns of the Day. ??
Many happy returns of the day to you too!
BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT EVER!!!!! Thank you!
Glad you liked it. and hey! You don;t have to return it because it was the wrong size or anything. Now I know what to give all my other friends for their birthdays.
Hey, I think I know her! Happy birthday to Cami !
(And that was a very nice gesture by you, Bob T.)
A little panda told me….
Woo hoo! Beary Happy Birfday Cami!!! And beary ‘pecial *paw/hand bumps* from me & Cee, also Philly Gals!
You’re a cool Panna Chief, Bob T!
Yay for Philly gals! (Me too, long ago!)
Woo hoo!!! Once a Philly gal, always a Philly gal!
Even if we move away, or nebber or rarely ate them, we all hab a widdle cheese-steak, soft pretzel, old fashioned water ice, &/or Tastykake in our DNA!
Pssst: Send dat hat & trench-coat wearing panna w/the contraband cuppycakes dis way! Promise to share some w/Cami!
I still get a little drooley when I think of cheese steaks. You can find them out here on the crumbling western edge of the empire, but they are no Pat’s Steaks. I have fond memories of the Italian market area… Fresh veggies and my first cappuccino. Gimmee a soft pretzel with yellow mustard, along with some cuppycakes! Huzzah!
{packing up a widdle Philly “care package” for ya!}
Sigh, tis sad that cheese-steak imitators across the country just can’t capture da essence of a good Philly steak. Somebody said it’s da “water”, and supposedly Amorosa (da best rolls!) uses “Schuylkill Punch” to give their rolls their great unique taste & texture!
Haven’t been to da Italian market in years, it has changed quite a bit, should be known now as da “International” market. Reading Terminal Market is still great for veggies, all things Philly, and ebben a great muffalotta!
I have always loved the Reading Terminal Market. In my other life as a painter, i have done a number of paintings of it. You can see them on http://nothingoverlooked.wordpress.com (at least ai’m pretty sure they are there)
Yum! Bread made with Skuykill Punch! Nothing like it in the world. Makes me want to run up the front steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum…they just don’t make museums like that any more. All we have in Seattle is a modern building with an extremely ugly sculpture in front. (Hammering Guy) it fell over when they were installing it, and had to be replaced with an equally ugly replica. Sigh. Where is Rodin when you need him? In Philadelphis, that’s where.
Happy Birthday Cami – what a lovely birthday tribute.
I just adore Bob in a box of cuppycakes 🙂
Aw shucks!
