If Pinky is to survive until the election, attention must be paid to Mommee, because I think her patience has come to an end. Actually, I think all patience went out the window, several episodes ago, but Pinky just does not know when to give it a rest. Meanwhile, Bubba is having way too much fun with some cubbies closer to his own age, and Pinky is rethinking having such young minions. These Canadian minions are not falling in to line like the triplets did. It must be a result of having such a panda permissive head of government, who has been known to bounce little panda cubbies on his knees. I bet he reads bedtime stories to the twins too. Do you suppose he babysits when Er Shun and Da Mao want to have date night?
So, not that I’m complaining or anything, I have noticed, that when Pinky is behaving badly, there are far more views on the blog than when all the pandas are behaving themselves nicely. Just an observation, mind you, not a criticism or cause for concern. Perhaps people …er… pandas other than myself wish to unleash their inner cubby and join the bears behaving badly.
In honor of Mother’s day (and particularly Mei Xiang, long suffering mother of Pinky) I wanted to share with you Vicky Vladic’s post on panda moms (along with a very yummy sounding recipe) over at V Something Speaks. Enjoy!
There is more to come later this week on the ongoing international panda crisis. Stay tuned!

Ohhh,I hope they are ready when Unkle Justin sends a car. I think he is getting short on patience with Pinky. He wouldn’t start an international incident, but it would behoove Pinky to remember we won the war of 1812 – and burnt down the”White” House. π
I believe a car is on the way, and should arrive, say, on Wednesday. Do you really think Unka Justin is match for Pinky?
I think Pinky is used to getting her way and that Unkle Justin will draw the line and not cross it. π
True, dat. Besides, Mommee will take care of seeing that Pinky is properly chastised.
As an aside Bob T, I did a guest post over at Cordelia’s Mom https://cordeliasmomstill.com/2016/05/09/good-chemistry-guest-post-by-paul-curran/#comment-17107 I’d be honored if you had the time to drop by.
I’ve already been by ( clever girl that I am) and am trying to think about ways to work the panda kindergarten in a chemistry class into the storyine. Scary, huh?
π
Oh, this is just wonderful! The little cubbies are very cheeky themselves! I laughed loud and hard at “No, dat’s not it.”
Little cubs are fast and very hard to catch! Fortunately for all involved, they tire out quickly, too.
The panel with them racing through the living room, with Pinky in pursuit, and Mei calmly talking on the phone is my favorite of this cartoon. Yes, hard to catch, and harder to hold on to, at least with no tutu to grab. Will Pinky ever think she has done anything wrong? Um…probably not. :o)
I just noticed that Bubba’s a little bigger than the Canadian twins! Well, he is a couple months older and a big boy for his age (more foo!). Perfect details.
Yes, he is at least two months older than the twins. My math is not my best subject, but his birthday is August 22 ( the day before Pinky, for which she still has some unresolved feelings) and I think the Canadians were born in mid October. And yes, more foo.
Go Mei! I love how she grabs Pinky by the tutu!! Love Pinkyβs comeback and the βnoβ¦ datβs not itβ line π
And thanks for linking to my blog π
I think Mei’s patience is beyond it’s limits. That was a fun drawing to do. And Pinky is such a smart mouth. I don’t know where she gets it.
The only ongoing international incident regarding pandas as I see it is that the powers-that-be have not yet placed a pair of roly, poly cubs in my backyard. And of course in the home of the mysterious and talented artist and author Anne Belov. Jayelle, AL & vsomethingspeaks are also well know panda superdignitaries due this permanent honor.
I know! What are they thinking? #Pandas2WashingtonNow
I just love the “rumble rumble” of little panda paws as they tear through the living room. Nope, I don’t think Pinky will ever think she’s done anything wrong.
The “rumble rumble” got added after doing the initial pencil drawing. Glad you like it. I think it is a memory dredged up from childhood, of my one slumber party I was ever allowed to have. The pitter patter rumble of little paws put an end to that.
Like the word “share”, “fault” is not in Pinky’s vocabulary.
Poor Mr. Bun, always getting in the middle of havoc. I love how Mei pulls on Pinky’s tutu then Pinky’s feet running in place! And of course, “no . . . dat’s not it” was the icing on the cuppycake!
Hee hee!
When the car arrives for da Toronto Twinkies, do ya think there might be a couple of stowaways? Me tink Bubba is having just too much fun with his newly found buddies to be separated. (Are they cousins?)
And the way the little boy Twinkie is clutching Mr. Bun…
Have you been spying in my studio? You will understand on Wednesday.
Or am I just getting predictable?
Moi, spy? Of course not!!! No way are you getting predictable, cause there is NOTHING ever predictable in the world of Pandas (and kitties). Speaking of kitties, me had a lovely cyber “Catnip Tea” with Mattie while you were on da east coast. Maybe da ‘nip was a little strong and me got visions of what could possibly happen with da Twinks, Mr Bun & Bubba!
That was a pretty good vision, as you will see tomorrow. And I bet if you had a bit more catnip tea, you will be able to imagine the content of the last panel. ????
Oooo, can’t wait! {Running off to brew xxx-strong pot of nip tea…}
Better not make that TOO strong, Winky!
