The Case of the Petulant Princess continues…

There was way too much fun going on here last week with our round robin film noir (and blanc) story.  If you missed it, be sure to check out the previous post for the whole story.  It was tons of fun.

But now, we must get back to the cartoon chronicle. While it had similar characters, the round robin did go off on a bit of a tangent.

Our story so far: Someone has closed highways around Zoo Atlanta, and diverted all traffic to The National Zoo in Washington D.C., some four states away to the north.  What mastermind computer hacker was able to complete this dastardly feat of pure evilness? Lun Lun hires Inspector Panda to get to the bottom of this mystery, but is he up to the task? And who will pay for the cookies?

...of course Boo-mints are pretty good too.

…of course Boo-mints are pretty good too.

If this cartoon was in color, you would recognize the yellow car, favorite of Po, Xi Lan and the Twinkies. Tune in on Wednesday as the story continues.

Be the Bear!

I’m amazed big sister Po isn’t going along, too. After all, Princess Pinky *did* poof Po when Pinky was denied access into the cub-house!

And huzzah for the Yellow Car!

She didn’t fit. She is rooting for them, and will be on speed dial from the Twinkies’ mephone for consultations.

Nope can’t get any cuter than that! Cubbies on the road! (I can’t believe their mother let them go off in the car alone.)

Lun Lun’s a very experienced mother, and I’m sure she let her sister Mei know that Princess Pinky is going to get a …chat… soon!

I just hope Mei Lan doesn’t decide to send his sisters their own wands!!

I think the phone lines between the panda houses at the zoos have been burning up! Oh dear…I hadn’t thought of Mei Lan getting into the indulgent big brother act, but you know, it could happen! Maybe he and Tai Shan have been cooking up mischief over a couple of Boo-beers.

I have a feeling that Po, Xi Lan, and Mei Lan aren’t going to let their little sisters get pushed around by Princess Pinky like that!

Will the Twinkies earn any merit badges for Panda Scouts on their trip?

I think you are right about the Twinkies older siblings. they’s got their eyes on princess Pinky!

I hadn’t thought of them earning a merit badge for their road trip/retribution mission, but I think it is an excellent idea! What do you suppose the badge would be?

          3. Anna

            Some merit badges could be:
            Traffic safety
Budgeting (gas and bamboo cost money!)
            Navigation
            Teamwork
            Traveler
Car care (it’s a long drive from Atlanta to DC and back!)

Some of these came from Girl Scouts 🙂

On the bright side, think of how well-prepared the Twinkies will be for the Panda Kindy after their first big journey!

I think that between the twinkies and Princess Pinky, the Panda Kindergarten is not going to know what hit them. I must say that Girl Scout badges have come a long way. Also the cookies only cost 50 cents a box back then.

I love how you take current panda doings and weave them into a story! I just finished the Book of Wu and I think it is your best yet, drawings stories etc. Can’t wait for the next one! Huzzah! And by the way, you need to change Bob’s name to “Robert FELONIOUS Panda” Shame on him stealing the twin’s cookies!

I’m so glad you liked the Book of Wu. I kind of thought it was my best yet too, but I always think the most recent thing I’ve done is the best. It’s the first with extended story lines and that was really fun. Also, after 5 years of drawing pandas, I think I’m getting the hang of it. Of course, I have to do CONSTANT “continuing education” of watching princess pinky, wu and the twinkies on videos. (are you buying that?)

The twinkie panda scouts on the road in their cubvertible is absolutely the cutest thing ever. Uh oh, Pinky’s in for it now! I hope her magical wand is well hidden.

It’s going to be a very exciting scene when the twinkies get to DC. I hope mommee Mei will keep an eye on everyone.

Pinky better watch out. She’s about to be run over by two adorable Twinkies in a yellow cubvertable. She won’t know what hit her. BTW, the Twinkies are welcome to stay at my house on their way to DC since it’s right on their route. There will be cuppycakes and milk!

Yes! I’ve been waiting for some spunky girl panda cubs and this crew is outstanding. Look out, Panda Kindergarten!

How did the Twinkies figure out it was Pinky? Besides the obvious.

Finished reading all about Mr Wu. Enjoyed the book thoroughly.

Did you see Mr Wu eating boo this morning? He looked so small surrounded by all that boo. The awwww-o-meter went tilt….

The twinkies are not entirely sure it is pinky, but they are very smart, and given that all the detours lead to the NZ, they have very strong suspicions. They plan to confront pinky and get to the bottom of things.

Glad you enjoyed the book of Wu. I am very happy with it myself. For me, the funnest thing was getting to read the extended story lines all in one go. I think there will be more of those in the coming year.

I did not see Mr Wu this morning, but in fact, I am going to see him in person (bear-son?) very soon! He will always be the cute Wu-self to me.
