Huzzah! Time for another episode of Bears Behind the Wheel!

Oh boy, oh boy! It’s time for another episode of Bears Behind the Wheel, starring your favorite grizzly bears, Frank and Mikey! Several attentive readers alerted us to this story about a vacationing family in Tennessee, and of course we were powerless to resist the urge to write a new ‘toon (or two) about it!

I mean who can resist stories about BEARS?!?!?!?!

The worst thing is the bears always reset the radio preset buttons and change the seat position!

Stay tuned for the second episode of Bears Behind the Wheel, coming next Tuesday! (Of course we always make you wait for the really good parts!)

Bears Behaving Badly

Well, that headline could include just about anything with the panda kindergarten, or true stories with bears. (Not to mention Princess Pinky!!! Need I say more?) Several of my very alert readers, Sarajane E. and Barbara B. sent me a link to this story about an entire family of bears behaving badly! Hmmm…I wonder if Frank and Mikey were the bears involved? Stay tuned! I’m sure that is soon to be a story that ZooNooZ will be covering!

Let’s take a look in the way back machine at what naughty pandas have been up to!

You can’t be too careful!

Ha ha! Here’s a toothbrush!

Wheel…of…PANDAS!!!!!

Speaking of being mauled by bears…

And speaking of Bridgegate…

Oh! Were we? There was recent news about the scandal with the folks over in New Jersey (The Sopranos State!) and how maybe somebody closed a bunch of lanes of the Fort Lee Bridge back in 2013. They basically (successfully, although not necessarily truthfully) pinned the deed on one of the governor’s trusted staffers (a woman, surprise, surprise) and of course, she is going down for the deed, although she’s still fighting. I say good for her.

The original news story inspired this series of ‘toons, starring young Pinky and the Meihems! Enjoy!

Pinky is at it again…

Uh oh. I knew when I saw her new tiara (Pinky 2020) that it was a sign of trouble. Big trouble. Mommee Mei might have hoped that Pinky had  learned something from her experience 4 years ago, and she did, they were just not the things Mommee Mei wanted her to learn.

I’m almost afraid to look…

Are Surveillance Cameras Fair to Bears?

Countless grizzlies, pandas and other bears who have been caught unawares on cameras would growl a resounding NOOOO! Wild pandas have been caught on camera, and now…now, lovable grizzly bears Frank and Mikey may have been unjustly accused of a crime!

But then, just where did those fuzzy dice come from? The Shameless Commerce Division of Car Talk, perhaps?

Ruh Roh….

WE’re just 1 week away from the next Panda Chronicles Pin Project, so stay tuned! Sneak peek at our next design coming…um…soon!

Be the bear, everyone!

Don’t let the grizzly bears drive the SuBEARu!

I’m trying to avoid the news for a few days, because..well….because.

Read on to the bottom if you would like to order a Pinky pin! I sent out all the pins that were ordered through Kickstarter yesterday, and they are marching around the world even as we speak. Wouldn’t that be divine? An army of Pinkys with their wands raised to fight evil!

Meanwhile, In addition to commenting on The Endangered Species Act, Frank and Mikey have some questions to answer about a recent car theft and…um…some other stuff that they would rather not talk about.

Who let the bears out? Woot Woot Woot!

“We are NEVER going to get our security deposit back!!!”

Pinky Pin Update: A number of people missed the opportunity to get a Pinky pin via my recent  Kickstarter campaign. I have a limited number of pins still available, not counting the ones I am saving to make sets at the end of the year.

I am working on the next pin design and hope to launch a new Kickstarter pin project no later than the 2nd week of April. So, if you wanted a pinky pin, there are several options:

Option 1: order a pin via the Contact Us page with you name, address, and how many pins you would like. Pins are $20 including US shipping; $25 for shipping to Canada, and $30 for other international destinations. For more than 1 pin (up to 4 total) add $15 per pin. (4 pins fit nicely in the small padded envelopes with very little postage increase) Once you have let me know you want a pin (via the contact form) I will confirm that I still have pins available and give you payment instructions at that time.

Option 2: Wait until I do the next pin project (Bubba will be next) and add on a Pinky Pin as supplies last. I can’t guarantee there will be more at that time, but it would save you a bit of postage if you want both pins.

Pinky’s official pin on Pinky’s official card! #ClapLouder!

The return of Frank and Mikey

It’s a good thing our favorite (non-panda) bears are here today to cheer us up. News has just dropped from the Pandiego Zoo that Mr. Wu and his mom will be going to China at the end of April. Mr. Wu was the first baby panda I watched on the panda cams from birth, and if I wasn’t already in love with him, the well baby panda exam that the zoo staff generously shared with Mr. Wu’s public, stole my heart for all times. Needless to say, the next few Sundays encore presentations, will  feature the one, the only Mr. Wu-self.

If you need your own full-time remembrance of Mr. Wu, consider acquiring Book 4 of the Panda Chronicles: The Book of Wu.

Meanwhile, I think Frank and Mikey want to talk about being endangered…

Guess who’s coming for cuppycakes!!!!

Pinky is in the HOUSE! (At least till Mommee talks to Nancy)

Oopsie. I think maybe Pinky is in the wrong House.

Surely you knew there would be a phone call from THE House to the PANDA House.

Pinky is in the House!!!!

Get Speaker Nancy on the phone!

Whew! Peel me off the ceiling!

Let’s start today’s post with a rousing cheer for all of you who supported me in my Kickstarter campaign to make the FIRST Panda Chronicles collector series pin!

Huzzah!!!!!! But now, let’s check in on the newest RED Panda babies at the Woodland Park Zoo…

Wee are pandas too!!!!

And now…Some final thoughts on my pin project…

I’m very excited that we had such a huge success, and reached the minimum amount needed to do the project, (on the FIRST DAY!!!), with a couple of add ons, to make them even more pandarific!: A printed card on which the pins will be mounted on AND, a stamp will be made for the back, that I can continue to use as I do more pins from this same manufacturer.

You might wonder why I choose the Kickstarter platform to do my projects and the main reason is this: I am a one person operation, with all sorts of plates and balls (and sometimes roaring chainsaws) in the air at the same time. The thing I love to do most is to make art and write and draw pandas (and engage in a liddle panda improv on twidder and fezbook) Soooo, if I can condense the ordering and fulfillment time into a short, finite period, it means I can spend most of my time making art, and a shorter, more focused time getting it to you.

This is also why coming up with an assortment of products (tee-shirts! Pillows! Jewelry! Phone covers!) doesn’t work very well in a one person shop. Turning my studio into a warehouse of products takes space and time, not to mention the product development and fulfillment research time. (Not to mention money.) One of my goals for this year is to develop my Redbubble shop so that those more varied products ARE available, but I won’t have to make, store, or ship them.

I like using Kickstarter to develop ideas that don’t exist in the instant order world of places like Cafe Press and Red Bubble. It allows me to design (fun!!!) and have someone produce the pins, and know that I have enough interest to make the project viable.

I’m really excited to get these pins in your hands. I’m hoping to design a new pin about every two months and I hope you’ll like the first ones enough to collect the whole set! Your enthusiastic response allows me to get some extra pins, so that a couple times a year, I can have special pin set sales (once there are enough pins to make sets!) and as new followers jump on the panda train, I’ll have previously made pins so that people can have all of them, at least till they’re all gone!

Thank all of you who supported this project, once again! I hope you’ll let me know who YOU think should have the honor of being on the next pin!

Thanks for Being the Bears,
Bob T Panda

Pinky pin! #ClapLouder

Pinky may have been put in Twidder Jail, but…

…I’m still there, kicking butt and taking names. Really…I love Panda twitter so much. FezBook has it’s good points too, but for some reason, it feels more vast and therefore fragmented and I miss a lot of posts.

Anyway…All is going well over at my Kickstarter project (still almost two weeks to get your Pinky pin!) We have enough in the banky pig to have the pins made, as well as have them put on groovy cards (mebbee with another picture of Pinky on it!).

But meanwhile…back at the Panda House…

Mebbee Bubba and Ping Ping can help…is this really happening?

By the by…you may remember that right before Christmas, I taught a class on making comics to a group of young persons. Apparently some of them had a good time, and their parents did not want to have me arrested and a group of them (a girl scout troop) want to do it again. I think I should show them the ‘toons about Pinky and the Meihems and the panda Scout Cookie sale!

Wish me luck!
