It’s fabulous furry Friday – Huzzah! Bootinis all around…

Where does the week go? I don’t know, but it’s Friday and that means it’s time to select a favorite cartoon from the archives!

As it is almost summer, that means that the panda kindergarten will be going on their summer holiday soon, much to the relief of their teacher, but that will give them even more time to get into trouble.

"Class....Claaaas....CLASS!!!!!!!!!

The panda kindergaten knows where you live.

And in honor of a recent bit of footage from panda cams that have been set up in the hopes of spotting wild pandas, we bring you our own example of catching pandas in their natural habitat:

Have a great weekend.

Are all Fridays Fabulous, or just Furry fridays?

The Weather Guessers are giving us one more day of good weather, and then we go back to life as we know it really to be here in the upper left hand corner. Yes, I’m talking about rain, and then perhaps some showers.

Sigh.

Next week Mr. Wu wraps up his big adventure, A Bear of the Air.  Just maybe I might have Mr. Wu Monday as well as Mr. Wu Wednesday.  Wouldn’t that be fun?  Also the threats from people who are getting tired of cliffhangers, well…let’s just say we hear you and feel your pain.

But until Monday, here are a couple of my favorites to entertain you for the weekend!

Be the Bears!

Bob, Bob, Bob...when will you ever learn?

Bob, Bob, Bob…when will you ever learn?

Mehitabel gets even.

Mehitabel gets even.

Love the hobby horse on a spring (inspired by a REAL photo of a REAL panda on one.

Don’t you just love the panda kindergarten?

Have a great weekend!

OMG it’s Fabulous Furry Friday

Well, here it is, Friday at last and I completely forgot to have something ready to speed you to your weekend, with dreams of pandas dancing in your brain.  What was I thinking?  To be honest, the cold that wouldn’t die is still making my head a little fuzzier than usual, but fortunately, there are many pandas in reserve!

But I do like the Friday pandas to be relevant, so today I give you the prologue to the Shakesbear pandas, as I am getting ready (finally!) to start working on some of the Shakespeare for Pandas plays that my brother wrote last year as part of a 31 plays in 31 days project.

Shakespeare is currently on my mind, because Whidbey Island’s very own Island Shakespeare Company is getting ready to launch a very exciting project.  Stay tuned for news of this exciting development!

After all, the playings the thing....

After all, the playings the thing….

The panda kindergarten will, of course, have a central role in the proceedings!

Have a wonderful weekend and Be the Bear!

It’s Fabulous Furry Friday with a NEW cartoon! (I can’t resist a good “scandal”)

One of the most fun things about panda satire is the ability to make fun of things that, quite frankly, aren’t very funny.  Also, you can “imply” things about non-panda related events by portraying it as pandas doing stuff. Just what am I implying here? I’m not telling!

Scandal in our nation’s capitol? I’m shocked!

"It was dark....there were men in masks...."

“It was dark….there were men in masks….”

Thanks for joining the pandas for launch week!  If you can’t access the createspace e-store, you can still find The Panda Chronicles Book 2: Wheel…of…Pandas! on Amazon!   Huzzah!  I think this discount code only works on createspace:

Thanks for joining in the fun!  Stay tuned for news of a book signing/launch party at our beloved Langley bookstore, Moonraker Books.

I can’t believe I almost forgot that it is fabulous furry Friday!

I do have an excuse, and you probably don’t want the details, since it involves things that come out of one’s nose…OK, I’ll stop there.  Suffice it to say, that my head and brain are a bit clogged at the moment. So, hmmmmm….what cartoon to choose for a fuzzy headed day….?

Nothing is quicker than a bunny, unless it is the panda kindergarten in bunny suits!

Seems like panda kindergarteners in bunny suits is a good thing for a Good Friday…. (Easter being a chocolate holiday, and all)

Today, you are a bear.

Today, you are a bear.

…And in the interests of being ecumenical, we bring you The Bear Mitzvah, since in addition to being Easter, it is also Passover.

Have a wonderful Friday.  It is sunny here on Whidbey Island, which you will enjoy if your house hasn’t just slid down an embankment.

Be the Bear!

Don’t forget to tune in Monday for the official Book Launch of The Panda Chronicles Book 2: Wheel…of…Pandas!

It’s Fabulous Furry Friday, once again!

Here we are, on a Friday morning, and we’d like to discuss the role of pandas in art history. I don’t know if anyone noticed in the most recent Wu on Wednesday cartoon, that Bai Yun’s pose in the first panel, was taken directly from a Caravaggio painting at The National Gallery in London, Supper at Emmaus. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I had wasted seven years in art school.

Speaking of pandas in art, a painting that was recently discovered in the basement of a London Gallery, which wished to be unnamed, proves beyond the shadow of a doubt, that James Abbott McNeil Whistler had a thing for pandas, in this first version of a painting of his mother. Rumor has it that he had asked his mother for funds to travel to Italy, as he had recently been bankrupted after the Ruskin trial.  She refused, and he painted this portrait of her, as a panda.  later he relented and painting a portrait that was more of a likeness, but many thought that the original painting was more flattering.

Fuzzy Friday Encores: What Happens in the Panda Kindergarten, Stays in the Panda Kindergarten!

Well, I heard a Facebook rumor in the halls of panda fans, that is too delicious and ripe with possibilities that I cannot afford to disbelieve it.  This rumor, of course, is that an Asian concern has bought a failing Las Vegas Resort, and plans to remodel it and include a multi million dollar PANDA HABITAT.  Could this be true? I am all aquiver with the satirical possibilities that pandas in Vegas affords.

Of course, you remember this cartoon from sometime last year:

What happens in Vegas.....

What happens in Vegas…..

Ah… the possibilities!
