You know where this is going, don’t you?

Oh yeah…just look up fairy tales 101, in your guide to children’s literature handbook. Although, of course, Grimm’s fairy tales in their original form would give any one nightmares, not just children.

You know how this story line goes: Big party/royal christening/panda naming day is happening but the evil fairy/witch/panda princess is not invited because of past misdeeds/evil intentions.  Evil fairy/witch/panda princess shows up anyway, chaos ensues, fair princess(es) are saved by gallant prince/knight/guy just walking by that turns out to be a deposed prince.

Yada,Yada, Yada.

Meanwhile, let’s see who has arrived at the naming day party…

You know where this is going, don’t you?

Being Endangered is SUCH a Curse

I hope y’all didn’t eat too much cake yesterday at Mr. Wu’s Birthday Party! We are ready to continue our story, so don’t touch that dial! Here comes the next episode of Being Endangered is Such a Curse!!!!

Pinky: Why do I always have to do all the hard stuff?

Some one has to feed the fish

Oh my! Pinky is not going to like this at all! Being made to stay home and feed the goldfish! And all because of a silly little mistake she made when she was very young. It is understandable, after the traumatic panda cam shut down in her early cubbyhood! What is an icon to do? Fish for compliments? Revise history so that she comes out the hero?

Maybe she can play Go Fish with the red pandas!

Fish

Don’t pout, Pinky!

I’m sure Pinky will think of something to do while the family is away!

Pinky is not going to like this

So what else is new? Am I really supposed to spend all my days trying to write stories that are all about Pinky all the time? I thought as a writer that I had at least a little bit of free will and discretion about what my stories are about. And really, Pinky, if you think that my stories are making you look bad, you could…oh, I don’t know…maybe behave a little better and not tease your brother so much?

What was I thinking!!!!??? We are talking about PINKY here!!!!

Commence propeller spin…now!

By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet, pop over to the Froggwell Blog and check out my post about creating…um…forgeries of my other favorite bear!

And so begins our Tale (or is that “Tail”?)

I can hardly focus my mind on pandas, what with various members of a certain family claiming innocence because something turned out to be nothing, when really what matters is that you thought it was something! And so begins our tale …

But first! Last week I had a visit from my previously unmet-in-real-life friends from the other side of the globe. Despite several flight cancellations just in order to get here, they finally arrived and what a wonderful time we had! Let’s just say that cuppycakes and PIE were involved!

Did someone say cuppycakes?

While normally, I try to promote blogs that I find interesting or are written by people I know, I must tell you that you should definitely NOT read this post about making two lonely little cuppycakes and you most definitely should NOT make this little bite size batch of peanut butter frosting and if you DID make this petit batch of peanut butter frosting, you should definitely not add a little bit of dark cocoa powder OR eat the whole thing with a spoon.

Ahem…or whip up a batch with no intention of putting it on a cuppycake…

but now, so begins our tale ….

so begins our tale

We call our liddle tale, “Being Endangered is Such a Curse!”

Yes, it’s another YBOP Fractured Fable! Huzzah. And like many fairy tales, there are wicked…um…witches, and fair maidens, not to mention a gallant prince who saves the day. And of course, everyone is a panda, more or less.

Panda on everyone!

Tell Me a Story

We are starting a NEW Story this week! Huzzah! It is another of my fractured retellings of a very old and familiar story, with my own little pandy twist to it! Bwahahahahaha!

But first, I must report about PandAlanta fest, which took place last weekend at the Atlanta Zoo!  A fabulous time was had by all, including the stars of the weekend, Six and Sebben, those delightful little pandas residing at the zoo with their parents. In addition to the warm up act (me!!!) we had a fabulous presentation from the folks at PDX Wildlife, who study – of all things – PANDAS!!!! What? You were expecting naked mole rats? Any way, they shared lots of pictures and told us about their research. Expect to see more about them here as not only are they doing important work for panda conservation, they were really nice people too!

But now! The Panda Chronicles presents, the latest in our long line of literary abominations, KittySue and the Three Pandas!!!!

story

This story seems a little, but not entirely, familiar!

Huzzah!

Book 7: Don’t Call Mee Boo Boo, has been getting a resounding welcome out there in the pandasphere and to thank you, we are offering a sale on all the earlier books in the Panda Chronicle Series, in case your library is not all stocked up on the earlier titles! You can find links to all the books here.

But don’t delay! These prices will go back up to list price on Saturday, April 1st, so don’t delay! No Foolin’!!!

And in case you were wondering what I was up to last weekend at panda fest….
