Our Story (Remember that?) Continues

Now where were we?

So as I recall, PPJ showed up, poofed Frank, Mikey, Bikkie, and Pookie into a hot air balloon and off they went. Meanwhile, Josie finally found her way from Alaska to the Panda House at the National Zoo.

Okay! you are caught up.

Meanwhile, Friend to Bears Lucilla suggested that a gathering of pandas to say farewell to Ya Ya as she returns to China would be a fun thing. I immediately pounced (like a cat!) on this as a way to wrap up a story that seemed (like a hot air balloon) to be drifting aimlessly on the breeze.

Maybe don’t stand right under the balloon?

Be the Bear!
Bob T I bet somebody is gonna get grounded Panda

Back to the Bears!

I’m sorry to leave the bears upon in the air, but there has been so much going on! I hope this will fill in a narrative gap or two. (While I figure out what is going to happen next, and take care of a few other things!)

Bears will be bears!

Be the Bear
Bob T bears behaving badly Panda

BTW I have a new rant on Substack this week! Check it out!

Look out DC! There’s a New Bear in Town…

Oh my.
Oh My
OH MY EARS AND WHISKERS!!!!

Oh

Be the Bear
Bob T maybe if I hide under the sofa…Panda

This would be a good time to order Book 10 of the Panda Chronicles! Quick, before Josie catches up with me!

You Knew Someone Was Going to Get Grounded, Didn’t You?

Was it YOU?

We have recently received reports of the arrest of one of the Jan 6 insurrectionists who was reported to have worn…I can’t believe I have to say this… a PANDA SUIT when he invaded the Capitol.

Do I have to remind you that pandas are peaceful and a force for good and would never, never, never support Mittens? Needless to say, ZooNooZ will be covering this shameful episode next week. Defamation suits are being considered.

Be the Bear
Bob T pandas would never do that Panda

BTW, I have a new thingie on my Substack Noozletter!

Did I mention there will be a new book SOON?

What goes up…More spy balloon nonsense

It was nice of whoever is continuing to float UFOs around the sky so that my ‘toon series would be relevant. Was this a spy balloon, or just a wayward panda cubby?

You be the judge!

You had ONE JOB, Beary Poppins!

Hee Hee!

Be the Bear
Bob T I told you nothing bad would happen Panda

You get a classified document, and YOU get a classified document…

It was inevitable that it would come to this…

I could have a cookie!

I mean…what with them finding classified documents at just about every former official’s house, it was only a matter of time before they came looking for what Pinky might have! I’m sure they will be taken in by her “innocent Pinky” look!

Be the Bear!
Bob T don’t look in my closet Panda

Deliver De Letter…

Pookie got a letter! Fan mail from some Flounder?

Bears will be bears!

This is rather off the subject of pandas and other bears, but I know some of the readers of the Panda Chronicles have from time to time tried their hand at making some art. I wanted to give those folks (and others who like to get a glimpse into the artists process) a heads up. My good friend in real life David Daniels is doing a Zoom demonstration through Daniel Smith’s Art Supply. You can also watch it on Facebook live HERE.

This will take place on Friday, January 27th at 1:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. Dave is a brilliant painter, a kind, funny, and experienced teacher. He lives in the DC area (I made him go with me to see the pandas once or twice, notably when Mei was sequestered with tiny baby Pinky and we watched them on the panda cam in a restaurant. I never did hear the end of that. But I digress.

This is a great opportunity to see Dave in action, in case you were thinking it might be fun to take some painting classes, either in person or on Zoom.

Meanwhile over at Substack…

I shared my annual tribute to Mehitabel, gone from my couch, but never from my heart, and definitely not from art and The ZooNooZ Nooz desk at Panda Chronicles Headquarters. I hope you’ll check it out!

Be the Bear,
Bob T I really am a panda Panda
