It’s Sunday Not That Much Fun Day!

One of the things I love about the panda community and the panda satire community is that they are a justice and equality minded bunch, for the most part. (maybe totally: anyone that supported Mittens is probably long gone by now.) In this season of gratitude, I am filled with thankfulness for your friendship and support.

Soon 31 Days of Pandas will be upon us!

I have so many holiday theme stories to fill the month we should have lots of panda entertainment every day(Culminating, of course, with the 12 days of Crispmoss!) I am continuing with episodes of Bears of the Baskervilles, with a new episode coming this week. But rather than have the confusion of interspersing the encore presentations of other holiday tales with new episodes of B.o.t.B (which sort of spells “Bob”) (sort of) I think I will keep writing and drawing new episodes and save them until they are all done, and then replay the entire series, along with the new episodes over several days, which will give you a chance to catch up in case you missed any!

But now, let’s have a bit of some Sunday Fun with some encore presentations!

As you know, my birthday season has started! One of my early memories is how all the other cubs got parties for their birthdays, but because my birthday fell in the beginning of other holiday seasons. somehow I never did. This obviously had long lasting repercussions in the instituting of the Birthday Season!

Remember, your Birthday Season lasts one day for each year old you are! Hey, I don’t make the rules here!…(oh…wait a minute…yes I do!)

Let’s have some CAKE!!!!

What is the Collective Noun for Zebras?

I found several names, the first being a dazzle, but I also found they can be called a zeal! I love alliterations, so a zeal of zebras hits me just right!

A group of pandas, of course, is an embarrassment. No, I mean that’s what a group of pandas is called. I mean, pandas can be embarrassing! I mean have you seem them eat? Before you know it, their tummies are covered in bamboo pieces, or cookie crumbs, or frosting…

Some Pandas are embarrassing even when they’re NOT in a group!

We have a zeal for zebras!!!

Yeas! It’s true! Book 9 of the Panda Chronicles is right around the corner!!! I’ve been working on it, procrastinating, working a bit more, some more procrastination, interspersed with some new technology frustration, but it is finally DONE!!!!

Proofs have been ordered, and should arrive by early next week, so as soon as I make sure they put in the pages in the right order and right directions, I can push the old publish button, and BOB’S YOUR UNCLE!!!

I must sadly tell you that ONCE AGAIN I was not awarded a MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant for Panda Satire. Announcement day has left me a sad panda (but you get to see my favorite cartoon!)

In 10 Years There Has Not Been One Grant Awarded in Panda Satire!!!!

Why IS there no MacArthur Fellowship for Panda Satire, anyway?

Also, today is National Voter Registration Day. If you are not registered to vote, what are you waiting for? By not using your voice, you allow others to speak for you and you might not like what they’re saying. Please register and please vote. Even in little pesky local elections like school board! You might not think those are important, but we are finding out that they are. Even here on (mostly) true blue South Whidbey, there is an ongoing attempt to replace smart, caring school board members with anti-vaxxing, anti-equality right wing authoritarians.

I’m gonna be voting, I’m going to remind my friends to vote. Don’t let Mittens rule from the rear!

It’s Almost Time for…

We are in the tail end of September (How the heck did THAT happen????) which means that it’s almost October, and you know what that means! It’s almost time for our annual rebroadcast of The Wizard of Wu!!! Once upon a time, a long looooong time ago (when there were only 3 major networks to choose from!!!!) The Wizard of Oz was rebroadcast every year right around Halloween.

This was so long ago, that when I first started watching this movie, we only had a black and white TV, so even when they got to Oz, it was still all in black and white. Eventually we got a color TV and I was so excited to watch the annual encore presentation of The Wizard of Oz, because IT WAS GOING TO BE IN LIVING COLOR!!!! Imagine my surprise, when the first and last part WERE STILL IN BLACK AND WHITE!?!?!?!?!?!?!

WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K!!!!!!?????

I guess only Oz gets to be in color. Any of you who live in Kansas…is it still that way?

No matter…we just need to kill a little time until next Sunday when The Wizard of Wu will come to you in several parts, followed by A Halloween Carol (starring PINKY!!!!)

Yes, Frank and Mikey are home from their Alaskan adventure, (Mei Xiang: wait a minute…what do you mean by HOME????) Six and Sebben are back in PandaLanta, and Bebe Maurice has returned to France to meet his petite zizzies and turn them into internationally renowned painting models!

Never a dull moment!

You might be thinking: What could they possibly be unpacking?

Silly you! Their pajamas, of course! What! Do you think they sleep au natural???? We may be animals but we’re not SAVAGES!!!!

I just realized that next Sunday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! So, of course I will be re-running the Mr. Wu the Pirate ‘toons! Prepare to talk like a Pirate!

Ever since I discovered that Mei Xiang and Lun Lun are half sisters, it has opened my eyes to the relationship between Six and Sebben. How is that, you might wonder…

A brief procedural note, I had to take down the felty panda page because it wasn’t working correctly. You can still request and order felty pandas. I will try to highlight some here on the main page I try to rebuild a page that actually works! Just remember, my tech knowledge is shallow yet narrow!

Of course, it is the DC panda kids birthday season, conveniently on August 21, 22, and 23! (Pinky: dat’s da most important one!) So let’s get right to it!

Just a bit of real panda world news! Huan Huan, French panda extraordinaire, and perhaps the direct descendent of Minette, the panda who became a world famous model of all the impressionists, has safely had twins! Four years almost to the day after the birth of Bebe Maurice…um…I mean Yuan Meng, Huan Huan had what are believed to be twin girls! We eagerly await their debut in the Panda Chronicles!

But now…back to the events taking place in the DC House of Pandas!

Bikkie is such a cheerful little panda! And so thoughtful!
