I know the clues were very subtle (only one of the Torch bears had visible eyelashes and there was only a tiny fragment of the Canadian flag) so it’s not particularly surprising that many people thought that Six and Sebben were the torch bears! They are much too small to go off around the world with out their mommee!
Hopefully, this toon will make things more clear!
On a sad note, I just discovered that one of my long time supporters and readers passed away on Christmas Eve. Sandy was one of my first regular readers and commenters. She supported all of my Kickstarter projects, including the 2017 one to send me to China. I looked forward to her comments. she always had an appreciative and funny comment about my ‘toons.
I was devastated to learn she had been diagnosed with ALS (known as Lou Gherig’s disease) sometime in the summer. I know her family and friends will miss her warmth, her humor, her festive photos she took of her schnauzers for every holiday. It’s not fair and I don’t like this one bit. This is probably not the time to say that I have a list of people the world would not miss, but there it is. Sandy, from whatever plane you now exist, I hope you’ll shine some light on us and help us find our way. And I hope where ever you are, you are surrounded by pandas and maybe a terrier or two. Not to mention the actual Mehitabel.
Panda on!

I’m sure there is trouble ahead for the torch bears!
Beautiful tribute to Sandy. She is missed.❤
Where there are torch bears, there is bound to be trouble.
ALS is a horrible, horrible disease. I am so sorry for your loss of your friend Sandy. May she be in Panda heaven with many too cute for words panda cubbies sitting on her lap. Dianna
I, too hope she is cuddling with many baby pandas. While I’ve never subscribed to a specific religion (despite my parents vain attempts) it does give me a lot of comfort to think that my friends and cats who have gone on before me are all hanging out someplace wonderful, eating cuppycakes and laughing together. Mehitabel is lounging on the back of the couch, trying to keep the small pandas from tormenting her.
Yes, it is a sadder world with Sandy gone. You must have missed my posting about her passing on FB. She will love the cartoon, I’m sure.
You know how it is with Facebook. You don’t necessarily see everything your friends post. But yes, I will miss her cheery posts and pictures of her beloved doggies.
I hope Jip and Yip will still be able to be the Torch Bears, if they don’t end up with a slight boo-boo of said torch.
I am so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. No matter how much or little we know of someone, it’s still very sad to lose anyone, especially from a disease.
Between packing and taking the twins to torch bear practice, a momma panda’s work is never done, eh?
A friendly panda guide welcome and going to an all-you-can-eat cuppycake buffet does sound like heaven! So sorry about the passing of your friend Sandy. I picture her having a boo-tini at the welcome party.
Happy to see the Canadian cubbies as the Torch Bears, it will certainly be an adventure for the Toronto Pandas to temporarily move to Calgary, So cute that Yip is concerned about being near Bubba!
