Day 26: 31 Days of Pandas Continues

So did Santa bring you everything you wanted?

No, me neither. But right around the corner is a brand new year, all shiny and untouched by tragedy and meanness. A new year full of hope and possibility.

I had hoped to have some early sketches of my new work in progress, but I am not that far along yet. You can be sure that when I get there, I will be sharing it right here!

On January 3rd, I will go back to my regular schedule, so no more pandas every day, (boo! hiss!) BUT, two new ‘toons per week, plus encore presentations for Fabulous Furry Fridays (yay! Huzzah!) There’s something to be said for that, right?

So sit back and have some leftover fruitcake and get ready to sing along as 31 Days of Pandas brings you day 6 of the 12 Days of Crispmoss!

Oh…could you not sing while eating leftover fruitcake? Especially not with your computer’s webcam turned on… Ick!

A Merry Christmas to you all! Thank you for stopping by and being the bears, thank you for buying my books and stuff with pandas on it, thank you for thinking I’m funny, and telling me when you think I’m not. (Not that I pay any attention to that, but I still appreciate hearing that I’ve seriously annoyed you!)

The world has gotten smaller and farther apart all at the same time. It turns out that our friends we make here in cyberland, are just as important to us as our friends in the real world. Sometimes we only find that out when we lose one, and then it is too late. My holiday wish is that more people choose hope, peace, and black and white bears over hating and killing. Oh, and that there should be more cuppycakes that don’t make us..um..more pandaesque, but still taste really good.

Which reminds me…

FIIIIIVE cuppycakes! ( Sing this one REALLY LOUD!!!!!!)

And because I’ve been very very very (mostly) good, can we please have pandas move to Washington State?

I hope you get to spend today (and every day, actually) with people you love, eating cake. Hey! bears do not live by bamboo alone!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la! It’s time for The Twelve Days of Crispmoss!

On the first day of Crispmoss the panda cam did see….

Everybody sing!

Meanwhile pandas have been sneaking around the internet, getting into all sorts of things! Firstly, they made a visit to Cordelia’s Mom, Still, and talked about their newest offering, The Panda Chronicles Coloring Book. Then, in the hopes it would inspire us to get back to work on The Panda Chronicles Cuppycake Cookbook: Favorite recipes of the Panda Kindergarten, I submitted the first recipe to the fabulous website, They Draw & Cook. Appropriately, It is Princess Pinky’s Cuppycake recipe! You can find it via this link and also in the “recently added recipes” section. I’ve been following this website for several hearts, because:
1. food
2. art
3. seriously cool people.

I hope you’ll check them out.

I’m starting to look at what the New Year will bring, and I have plans and resolutions as regards The Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire. One thing I really must do is to get better about sending out a monthly newsletter. So many people have signed up to receive news of panda satire, and I have been really falling down on the job. It means that I have to reassess how much time I spend on various social media. I’ll still be there but maybe not quite as much, and it will be when I’ve gotten all my other work done. Once upon a time, I didn’t even have internet access at home, and still maintained The Panda Chronicles.

How did I do it? heck if I can remember, but do it, I did, and now I must take myself in paw, because I have big plans for next year, which I will start letting you in on in my newsletters, which i swear I will start writing any day now.

The 12 Days of Crisp-moss will be wrapping up on New Year’s Day, which means you will get three days worth of panda fun in one day. After that, I will take a short break and return on Sunday, January 4th with a brand new cartoon, and then return to my pre-31 days of pandas schedule of new ‘toons on Sundays and Wednesdays, with a encore presentation on Fridays.

Do continue to alert me to panda news or any other news story of the absurd that you think might have an application in panda satire. Use the form on the contact us page to be sure the comment gets to me. Or just use it to say “hello” or “I think you are the most brilliant cartoonist to walk the face of the earth since Bill Watterson retired.” Or something like that.

Once again, I wish you peace, happiness, health, and pandas in the new year. Thank you all for being the bears. May your inner pandas rejoice in the wonders of life, and may you always have enough cuppycakes to share.

On the 3rd Day of Crisp-moss…

I am completely innocent, I tell you. I spent much of the day working on the next couple installments of The 12 Days of Crisp-Moss, with absolutely no knowledge that Princess Pinky Bao Bao (the actual Princess Pinky Bao Bao) was staging a sit in at the top of her beloved hemlock tree.

Unlike the San Diego Zoo, which is a closed area, the National Zoo is open to a large park (which name escapes me at the moment) and so the animals must be secured in their private behind the scenes enclosures before their attendants can call it a day, and go home and put their very tired feet up.

So, when Princess Pinky decides she does not want to come down….

I think she is trying to beat Tai Shan’s record.
