Panda-ing Down Memory Lane….

We continue with our Year in Review, because, quite frankly, we got up on the wrong side of the den this year, and we are feeling a bit like those bears that hibernate really have the right idea.  We could just go to sleep for a while, and when we got up, it would be spring, and maybe we would be in a better mood than we are now. so, to cheer ourselves up a little, here are some more of our favorites from 2011!

panda on rocking horse

That one was inspired by some of my favorite videos of the year, of panda kindergarteners on plastic rocking horses. A definite mood enhancer!

And how could we have resisted the story of Mei Lan, the first born panda of Zoo Atlanta , who, it was discovered when she was 5 years old, that she was a he!

See you tomorrow, in a better mood, we hope.

Oh my gosh I’ve crossed the 10,000 visits line and I wasn’t even here. Also, day 28

We are so getting down to the wire (so to speak, although several pandas are ON the wire) but I wanted to take a minute to thank all you Bob T. Panda fans (and Mehitabel, don’t forget whose cartoon it was first!) who visited over 10.000 times. Or maybe it was 3 of you who visited  3,333 times each.  Whatever. Thank You!

And now, without further delays and forgetting to post the drawing, here is (drum roll please) Day 28!

Oh my gosh It’s Day 27, with an added bonus! Tails (!) from Black (and White) Friday

I try not to listen to the news too much because it just depresses the heck out of me.  Just what are some people thinking as they go about their business?  This is not limited to “People in the News” such as celebrities or politicians.  Sometimes your everyday person on the street makes a decision that is so boneheaded you wonder how they can remember to breathe.  A case in point is the person who thought it would be a really good idea to take pepper spray when she hit the Black Friday sales, to make sure she had no competition at the sale table.  Pandas, of course would never do anything so thoughtless.  As we see from the following cartoon, Bob has a much more …um …organic solution to the art of competitive shopping.

Black friday shopping tactics

See what I mean?

And now, without further ado, here is day 27 of 30 Days of Pandas!  I’m almost done….I think they are all going to fit!

Be the Bear (poof!)

I can hardly stand the wait, pandas don’t be late….

OK, who all  remembers the 3 chipmunks singing their little Christmas song?  Not sure what that has to do with anything, but it just popped into my mind, as I was trying to think up a headline for this post.  So, without further ado, or brain flotsam falling out onto the page, here is day 26 of 30 days of pandas. are you keeping count? I thought so.

Be the Bear!

And coming soon from Pandyland at Cafe Press: 30 Days of Pandas, the POSTER!!!!!!!!

Day 25: A Panda a day keeps the blues at bay….

day 25 -30 days of pandas

Chaos reigns at the panda kindergarten! Little pandas tumbling and climbing to their hearts’ content.  Meanwhile, in a room not far away, 100 pandas at 100 typewriters are endeavoring to write the Scottish Cartoon, MacBear!  And, in yet another area of the Institute for Inner Panda Studies, yet another group of pandas are practicing for their annual production of  The Dance of the Sugar Plum Pandas.  Stay tuned.

Be the (very full) Bear!

I am most thankful for pandas, especially panda #24

I hope all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving will have a wonderful day, spent with people you actually like.  And for those of you who don’t celebrate this American holiday, I hope you have a lovely day too.  Back to sarcasm and snottiness tomorrow!

This is Day 23, time for cuppycakes and tea!

To quote noted philosopher and rock legend Jerry Garcia, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.”  I started this drawing with no other idea than “30 pandas, maybe on a slide, and cake.”  While I’ve kept a day or two ahead of you, the viewers and panda-maniacs, I really had no more idea where this was headed than you all did.  Needless, to say, It’s been fun, and I will do it again, just not next month.  There are too many ideas for new cartoons that I haven’t had time to draw and write while I was absorbed in this project (not to mention all the other things I’m supposed to be doing to actually earn a living.)  Be that as it may, this drawing will be available as a poster through Pandyland at Cafe Press starting on the 30th of November.  (And what a great Christmas, Hannukah or Solstice present, for you or someone else!)  Hope you are having as much fun with this as I am.

Be the Bear!
