While we wait for the arrival of the Scottish pandas….

Of course we know that Tian Tian and Yang Guang are not actually Scottish,  I mean, it’s not like they are some exotic variation on Scottish Terriers, after all.  But still, our heart starts to go pitter patter just a bit when we think of pandas gracing the British Isles once again.  As you know, pandas have trod these paths before, and not so very long ago at that.  Am I speaking of Chi Chi, who lived at the London Zoo from 1958 until her death in 1972?  Why no! I’m speaking of the Torch Bears recent visit to Westminster Cathedral to start their round the world journey back to London for the 2012 (Panda) Olympic Games!

It’s Here!

Well, we’re not entirely sure, but we think the Institute for Contemporary Panda Satire has officially launched our new Panda Commerce Division: PANDYLAND on Cafe Press. You can follow the link in the sidebar under the heading  Panda Commerce Division.  ( http://www.cafepress.com/pandyland)  I am still working out some of the bugs as I am not the most techno sort of panda and I will be adding more designs and cartoons of Bob and his friends to the page.  I hope you will feel inclined to invite some pandas to come and live with you!  Black and white goes with everything, don’t you think?  We really thought it was time that the pandas got off their furry little butts and helped buy all the ink and paper that we use here to make cartoons.  The fast food thing was really not working out.

Let me know what you think, and if there is something you would like to be on a t-shirt or anything else, really!

Another Entry to the Roll of Honor

What was I thinking? no Roll of Honor could be complete without listing my very first readers and supporters in my quest for Panda Satire World Domination.  Of course I am talking about Catherine and Jason DeWitt of DeWitt Custom Framing in beautiful and bucolic Freeland Washington!!  I probably used up several reams of paper and fax film sending them my first cartoons, until they got rid of their fax machine. ( Hmmmmmm. do you suppose all those cartoons had anything to do with that decision?)  Well anyway, thanks for helping start me on the road to panda satire!

Once again it’s time for WHEEL….OF…PANDAS!

We had to do one more earthquake related cartoon and this one plumbs the depths of bad taste. Hope you like it.

Like many who grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s, I had a Barbie Doll and her friend Midge, and her dog fido. I always wanted Barbie’s dream car, but I never got one.  I guess this cartoon is a reaction to that childhood depridation. Or something like that.  Or just another excuse to make fun of stuff.

In our never ending quest to make fun of absolutely everything, we once again lampoon the world of books. And, we do solemnly swear that we will come up with a new cartoon once a week!!!!  Can we do it? Are we not bears?  We have a few ideas up our sleeves, that is if pandas HAD sleeves.

Cuppycake Redux

Ok, here is the real cuppycake cartoon (as opposed to Cake Panda) with the dedication intact. My home computer seems to have healed itself while I was out for a few hours, so all is well.  I did catch up with my backing up of new cartoons, writings, and artwork, and I swear that I will do it faithfully from now on. No, really.

In totally unrelated news, did you know Vermont has named a Cartoonist Laureate? How cool is that?
