It’s time for our second favorite halloween tale (after The Wizard of Wu, naturally) A Halloween Carol! Part 1 will be this week, with the exciting conclusion next week on Halloween proper, here in the US of A. Of course much scarier things are happening in the halls of power, but maybe we can have permission to forget them for just a little bit, while we enjoy this Encore Presentation of…
A Halloween Carol (part 1)
‘Toon in next Sunday for the conclusion of A Halloween Carol! Bwahahahahahahaha!
Be the Bear! Bob the ‘T’ stands for Trick or Treat Panda
Here we are again, while we try not to gnash our teeth as we read of the idiocy of various state governments outlawing private businesses from having vaccine or mask mandates, or forbidding of teaching any history does not center white men as paragons of virtue. I have worn out the “WTF” keys and the “FFS” keys on my keyboard.
But we have the next installment of The Wizard of Wu’s encore presentation to share with you, so, let’s unclench our jaws, have a bootini and some poppy corn and enjoy the show!
Sigh….
Well that wraps up our annual Halloween Season Encore Presentation of The Wizard of Wu! We hope you enjoyed it!
Be the bear, and tune in next week for more of our NEW story, The Bears of The Baskervilles, as well as what happened to Bob when he met up with the zebras!
Fat Bear Week continues, but even more importantly, It’s OctoBEAR and that means Halloweenie! And as I previously mentioned, that means for the next couple of Sunday’s we will be having our annual special encore presentation of The Wizard of Wu!
So let’s get started, shall we?
Toon in next week for the next installment of The Wizard of Wu!
Be the Bear! Bob T Panda
A Reminder for the Holiday Season
USPS has made plans to slow down deliveries…why? Because they can, also Louie De, so if you are planning to order pandas for the holidays, order early, so they can actually get to you on time. After last years debacle (at least one priority mail package mailed on December 7 did not arrive until January 10th-ish.) I would rather not mail any packages after December 1st. Right now I have a fairly relaxed production schedule, so unless it’s a big order, I can still get pandas done in a week or so.
Recently I’ve begun to invite friends of the Panda Chronicles to request specific encore presentations for my regular Sunday offering. This week, by request, I’m highlighting Bee the Bear!
I had to think for a minute about how Bee (the Bear) came into bee-ing! It all came rushing back, when I remembered that when I did my 2nd Kickstarter campaign to publish my first collection of ‘toons in printed form, a friendly bee-keeper here on Whidbey offered some local honey as an extra incentive to contribute to my campaign.
Of course I had to design a label!
Later I revised her a little bit:
and also…
When Mr. Wu came along, Bee (the Bear) appeared in many of Mr. Wu’s adventures, including the story when he ran off with the panda kindergarten and joined the circus, The Wizard of Wu, and It’s a Wunderful Life!
And while we’re on the subject, (what subject was that?) It’s almost birthday month for Mr. Wu, and the Meihem twins, so the Sundays of July will be filled with encore presentations with Mr. Wu and the Meihems! (Pinky Junior shares [NOT DAT WORDS!!!!] her birthday [July 29th] with The Wu Self!) The wizard of Wu always has an encore presentation in October and it’s a Wonderful Life, during the Christmas holiday season. I’ll reprise Mr. Wu’s entire circus adventure during his birthday month!
August, of course, will be full of the House of the Xiang-Tian clan! Definitely something to look forward to!
I hope you enjoyed this visit with Bee (the Bear)!
Yes, it’s the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, here in most of the USA, and you know what THAT means!
Yes, it’s time for THIS ‘toon!
Sunday Funday KNOWS that this is one of your favorites!
I crack me up!
There are more ‘toons to come, but first…Last week the world of children’s literature lost one of it’s greatest practitioners, Norton Juster.
If you don’t recognize the name, run, don’t walk to your favorite bookstore, and buy your very own copy of The Phantom Tollbooth. TPT is one of those books. Published in 1961, I read it for the first time a few years after that. For years afterward, I could remember little snippets, but could never quite remember the title, or when I had read it, but the magic of this book never quite let go. When I found it again, it was as if I had been shown the entrance to a magical place, not unlike tasing through the tollbooth itself.
There are so many great books being written for children and teens right now. But I re-read The Phantom Tollbooth every year or so, because it never fails to reveal something new, that I really need to know. I hope you already love this book, but if you don’t know it, what are you waiting for?
And now, more pandas! (Expect the Panda Kindergarten!)
Well *bleep* and take your *bleep* and stick it *bleep*!!!!
Twinkies 2.0 put on a show!
I have extra frosting!
Today, you are a bear.
…if I were a panda, yadda dah dah da- da- da- AAARGH! I can’t stop!!!!!
Yes, we are in the midst of the Lunar New Year Celebration, AND today is Valentine’s Day! Meanwhile, the real life Princess Pinky has had her first cubby and it is a Princess! Princess Pinky Jr. shares (not dat word, mommee!) her birthday with the Real Wu Self, July 29th! Pinky Jr. seems to be in good paws with a foster mommy. Alvin of My Panda Tours gave us some good information about this over on FezBook, in case you follow him there.
In any case, this is not an uncommon state for first time panda moms. From all reports Pinky Jr. is doing well and the picture I saw of her is so cute! Get that cubby a magical wand!
But now, by popular request, (and because I was going to do this anyway) let’s have a round up of previous Lunar New Years with the Panda Kindergarten ‘toons!
The year of the bunny…..
Oh that panda kindergarten!
Huzzah! it’s the year of the Dragon!
Look out!!!! Oh, those triplets!
Huzzah! It’s The year of Pandas on Horsies!
Well, the FIRE part had Mehitabel a little worried, but…
While we have a new President (no quotation marks needed!) I’m afraid we have not seen the last of Mittens. How can we miss you if you won’t go away? I’m tempted to run a post of Mittens’ greatest hits, but, well, he doesn’t have any!
There is news on the Panda Chronicles Collection front! I am hard at work on Book 9, and hope to have it in shape to submit to my self publishing vehicle in another week or so. Stay tuned!
And now, here is a little assortment for our Sunday ‘toon fest, of February ‘toons through the years!
Ever wondered where all these pandas came from?
How splendiferous is chocolate? Let me count the ways
What do you mean by “was?”
The Life of PIE….get it? *chortle chortle*
Could Mama Mei Xiang really be contemplating letting Pinky loose on the pandy kindy?
Have you heard? the real Pinky is now a mommy!
You know we’re just kidding about this, right?
it’s the panda, the panda season of love!
“Why can’t my children be as well behaved as Lun Lun’s,” mused Mei Xiang
In fact, not only was as bad as we thought it would be, it was worse.
Wee are pandas too!!!!
WEll, it COULD have been a hunt of Mittens Jr.!
I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane! Stay ‘tooned for more new ‘toons this week!
This is it! The longest night of the year. (which is really saying something after the longest four years of my life!, am I right?) We have more episodes of Pinky in Wonderland, our Feature Encore Presentation coming right up!
So let’s make some Poppy Corn, and get ready for the next episodes of Pinky in Wonderland!
When we were very, very small…
Why look! Eet ees Bebe Maurice!
Off with her head!
Is that turtle Too Much McConnell? Who needs a mallet to the butt more than he does?
Once again, we have a smidge of hope, as those bad boys and girls in black over at The Supremes smacked down the suit by the Texas AG, which thought that since they didn’t like the voting results in PA, WI, MI, & GA, that they should get to call the entire states votes invalid and appoint Mittens Electors, neener, neener, neener!
Yeah…no…it doesn’t work that way.
Oh tidings of treason and greed. Sad that 3 years later this ‘toon is still even more accurate.
Let’s have some more memories from the Mittens Reign of Terror…
Clear as mud!
Hey! Why are you making another character of questionable ethics a CAT???
How many people noticed their language got a bit saltier over the last 4 years?
Well *bleep* and take your *bleep* and stick it *bleep*!!!!
