We are in The Panda Season of LOOOOOVE!

Oh yeah! Romance! It’s the Panda Season of Love!

Since it’s the Panda Season of Love, all felty panda orders in the month of March will have a bonus of a roll of Panda Season of Love Washi tape!

Tape is about 1 1/8″ wide and rolls are about 10 YDs long. Shows brighter here than it is.

I hope people haven’t had enough of silly love songs!

It’s time to be counted…

It’s time to be counted among those that believe that America should be better than it has been lately. I’m reading an article in the New Yorker, about Iceland, and how they have dealt with the COVID 19 pandemic. From the first moment they heard of cases in China, back in early January, they started moving the pieces needed to combat this virus into place. By the time the first case surfaced in February, they were ready. While they had quite a number of cases, they have had very few deaths. Through mandatory quarantine and contract tracing, they were able to keep the cases under control without ever locking down the economy entirely.

Imagine that.

Meanwhile, here we are.

Among other ways of being counted, don’t forget to fill out your Census form!

Do we have to count panda adoption fees?

These days I often feel like I have a sharp pain being my ears. And now, no other countries want us to come visit! Who can blame them. But if you must travel, you can always fly Pand-Air! (From the oldies but goodies file!)

…than the panda season of LOVE!!!!!? I know these are hard times: Bao Bao has gone to China, as have the Meihems; Bei Bei no longer gets to romp and roll with his mama. And you know who is in the White House. But wait! There is hope! Mei and Tian may yet do the Pandy Tango, and then we may get a bouncing baby panda or two. Wouldn’t that be fabulous in the extreme?

Phexit Exit

Before I bring you the final (we hope) episode of the Phexit Exit, I want to share a report that was shared with me by our roving reporter known only as “Ellen N.” who, while she did not visit the actual pandas while visiting in Edinburgh, Scotland (as opposed to Edinboro PA) did discover a bakery in Blair Atholl that MAKES THE FLOUR FOR PANDA CAKES which the keepers at the Edinburgh Zoo make for Lord and Lady MacBear. Yes, they grind flour according to a top secret recipe that they would not reveal to our intrepid investigator, because if they told her they would have to….

Well, you know.

But while they would not share the secret pandalicious recipe for panda cookies (could these be the fabled Scottish Binky Bars?) she was able to photograph the certificate of Panditude awarded to the bakery by the zoo.

Thanks for the cookies!

The Panda Season of Love Begins

Oh yes, the Panda Season of Love has begun once again and panda fans around the world anxiously await the joyous announcements of impending panda pregnancies! This year Australia (being on the opposite side of the globe) is anxiously awaiting a possible perfect puffy panda popkin, but as with all things panda procreation, we don’t often know that something will happen until it actually happens!

Is it any wonder that pandas visit therapists more often than any other animal? (Okay, I just made that last bit up, for those of you who are paying attention!)

But now, let’s get on with the show of encore presentations for Fabulous Furry Friday on The Panda Season of Love!

The Scottish Pandas: Who will get custody?

This Thursday Scotland will vote on whether they want to be a nation independent from England. I don’t know what the benefits or hardships on either side would be, but that’s never stopped me from making fun of the process. I realize that the custody of the Scottish pandas are a very minor issue in the question of a nation’s independence, but hey! Panda fans want to know!

If pandas don’t ask this question, who will?

And what if Tian Tian (aka Sweetie) has a cub? Talk about a Royal Baby!

Meanwhile in the world of red pandas, friend and co-author Vicky Vladic has posted about International Red Panda Day, that is coming next week on September 20th (one day after International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19th!). Go right now and read about red pandas and you might find a new cartoon that has not been posted here yet. Huzzah! Over the river, through the woods and across the Atlantic we go, to visit some of our favorite pandas, those titans of the tartan, the Scottish Pandas, Lord and Lady MacBear. I just can’t get enough of these guys. And lest you be concerned that Mehitabel has been beset by bratty panda kindergarteners during the running of the pandas, she gets her own back today, as she pokes fun at the technique (or lack thereof) of boy pandas everywhere.

I just love the cub reporter.

Hope that you are having a happy Sunday, sitting around reading the sunday funnies with your panda, perhaps enjoying a cuppycake or two. (Or three)
