Here we are again, while we try not to gnash our teeth as we read of the idiocy of various state governments outlawing private businesses from having vaccine or mask mandates, or forbidding of teaching any history does not center white men as paragons of virtue. I have worn out the “WTF” keys and the “FFS” keys on my keyboard.
But we have the next installment of The Wizard of Wu’s encore presentation to share with you, so, let’s unclench our jaws, have a bootini and some poppy corn and enjoy the show!
Sigh….
Well that wraps up our annual Halloween Season Encore Presentation of The Wizard of Wu! We hope you enjoyed it!
Be the bear, and tune in next week for more of our NEW story, The Bears of The Baskervilles, as well as what happened to Bob when he met up with the zebras!
Fat Bear Week continues, but even more importantly, It’s OctoBEAR and that means Halloweenie! And as I previously mentioned, that means for the next couple of Sunday’s we will be having our annual special encore presentation of The Wizard of Wu!
So let’s get started, shall we?
Toon in next week for the next installment of The Wizard of Wu!
Be the Bear! Bob T Panda
A Reminder for the Holiday Season
USPS has made plans to slow down deliveries…why? Because they can, also Louie De, so if you are planning to order pandas for the holidays, order early, so they can actually get to you on time. After last years debacle (at least one priority mail package mailed on December 7 did not arrive until January 10th-ish.) I would rather not mail any packages after December 1st. Right now I have a fairly relaxed production schedule, so unless it’s a big order, I can still get pandas done in a week or so.
Recently I’ve begun to invite friends of the Panda Chronicles to request specific encore presentations for my regular Sunday offering. This week, by request, I’m highlighting Bee the Bear!
I had to think for a minute about how Bee (the Bear) came into bee-ing! It all came rushing back, when I remembered that when I did my 2nd Kickstarter campaign to publish my first collection of ‘toons in printed form, a friendly bee-keeper here on Whidbey offered some local honey as an extra incentive to contribute to my campaign.
Of course I had to design a label!
Later I revised her a little bit:
and also…
When Mr. Wu came along, Bee (the Bear) appeared in many of Mr. Wu’s adventures, including the story when he ran off with the panda kindergarten and joined the circus, The Wizard of Wu, and It’s a Wunderful Life!
And while we’re on the subject, (what subject was that?) It’s almost birthday month for Mr. Wu, and the Meihem twins, so the Sundays of July will be filled with encore presentations with Mr. Wu and the Meihems! (Pinky Junior shares [NOT DAT WORDS!!!!] her birthday [July 29th] with The Wu Self!) The wizard of Wu always has an encore presentation in October and it’s a Wonderful Life, during the Christmas holiday season. I’ll reprise Mr. Wu’s entire circus adventure during his birthday month!
August, of course, will be full of the House of the Xiang-Tian clan! Definitely something to look forward to!
I hope you enjoyed this visit with Bee (the Bear)!
Now where were we? Oh yes, Mr. Wu and a panda that looks an awful lot like his next oldest brother Yunior have just met Mr. Toasty, as they make their way to the Bamboo city (or the Cuppycake City, depending on which chapter you’re reading #PerilsOfPantsing)
So now, as we chew our fingernails past our second knuckles, grab your popcorn and sit back to watch the final episodes of…

…It’s time for our annual rebroadcast of ….The Wizard of Wu!!!!!(Sounds of cheering and huzzahing and pass the cuppycakes!) Yes it’s that time once again when we dust off that old chestnut, that classic satire of The Wizard of Oz, starring…no…NOT Pinky!!!!!!!! But the one, true, dearly beloved Wu Self!!!
(More cheering…you’ll have to do the sound effects yourself.)
Are you ready? Do you have your popcorn? Did you use the little bears room? Well, all right then, let’s begin!
where happy pandas eat bamboo, oh why, oh why, can’t…Wu?
We’re in for it now, Binky!
Hang on to your hats, kids, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
I don’t think we’re in Pandiego any more, Binky….
What could be waiting outside? Where the heck ARE we, Binky?
Don’t I know you from somewhere?
Mehitabel would like to register her protest about given the least sympathetic role in this adventure.
We would like to note the early appearances (in supporting roles) of Pinky and the Meihems.
Okay, now it’s getting exciting! Scary parts dead ahead!
Stay tuned next Friday for more of…The Wizard of Wu!
Every time I reread The Wizard of Wu, I am enchanted all over again! I remember watching The Wizard of Oz every year around Halloween, and I was always terrified by the flying monkeys, by the evilness of the wicked Witch of the West, the whole idea that you could be whisked away by a tornado and wake up in a frightening new world.
So, after our re-broadcast of A Halloween Carol, I thought we should also have an encore presentation of that other holiday classic, The Wizard of Wu, for our Fabulous Furry Friday presentations! (Be on the look out for some cameo appearances for the newest junior pandas on the US panda scene!)
Huzzah!
