I have several friends who actually do the polar bear plunge thing in the Puget Sound. This makes me cringe on so many levels. I’ve often thought it would be funny if you “plunged” with actual polar bears, although this is definitely NOT recommended. Back in 2009 this actually happened. The YouTube video was extremely popular as well. I thought the polar bears looked quite disappointed when the woman was fished out of the pool.
It was high time that The Institute of Contemporary Panda Satire examined this issue. Due to parentally imposed “limitations,” Princess Pinky, Mr. Wu, and the Meihems were forbidden to appear in this cartoon. Don’t worry, they’ll be back soon.
Coming soon: Pinky’s snow day, The panda Kindergarten’s Chinese new years presentation and much, much more panda fun! Huzzah!
Be the Bear,
Bob T. Panda
Run Bob Run!
(that youtube footage is incredible)
Yep, Bob better put the pedal to the metal!
That video is quite remarkable. I could swear the polar bears were smiling, and then a bit perturbed when their “hot lunch” was snatched away from them. Polar bears are really, really big. A grown male can be 1200 pounds or more. compare that to your average panda, that weighs in at between 200 – 300 pounds.
And in case you were wondering what the polar bear was holding, it was a squeeze container of mustard.
LOL – they did look upset to be deprived of their “hot lunch!” The only thing missing was a bottle of mustard 🙂
Bears will be bears!
Um, is that some kind of sauce or condiment the Polar bear is holding?
I believe it is a squeeze bottle of mustard. Those polar bears are really sneaky.
Apparently “giant” is a relative term here. May no human or bear ever discover that pandas are tasty with mustard!
Polar bears are really really REALLY big. A full grown male can weigh more than 1200 pounds, compared to your average panda at 220-300 pounds. And who doesn’t like mustard on just about everything?
